President
Emily Barber is a dynamic professional and community advocate from Lapeer, Michigan. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Northwood University. Over the years, Emily has built a strong reputation for her leadership and dedication to her community through active involvement in local organizations.
Since 2011, Emily has been a proud member of the Lapeer Kiwanis Club, where she has served as president. She is also a longstanding board member of LACADA (Lapeer Area Citizens Against Domestic Assault) since 2014, currently serving as the vice president. Her dedication to social causes extends to her work with United Way of Lapeer County, where she has been a board member since 2012 and now serves as president of the board.
Vice President
Tamra Kleynenberg has dedicated much of her life to serving her community in various leadership roles. She has been an active member of Rotary Club of Imlay City for 21 years, including 10 years as Treasurer. She also plays a key role on the Board of the United Way of Lapeer County, where she currently serves as Vice President, helping to strengthen programs that benefit local residents.
In addition to her community involvement, Tamra retired from ChoiceOne Bank following a distinguished 41-year career, where she served as Vice President and Regional Manager. Her dedication to service extends beyond her career, continuing through her active contributions to local organizations and initiatives.
Tamra, a lifelong resident of Lapeer County, resides in Lapeer with her husband Mike, whose family owns Beckwith Body Shop. Together, they have fostered a deep connection with their community.
Tamra’s eldest daughter, Courtnee, and her husband Cameron, are both graduates of Lapeer West High School and Grand Valley University. They now live in Manhattan, New York, where they work as teachers. Her youngest daughter, Leah, graduated from Lapeer High School and Colorado Mesa University and currently works as a medical assistant for a dermatologist in Grand Junction, Colorado while applying to Physician Assistant (PA) school.
Tamra enjoys traveling with her husband to see their children. She loves golf and, more recently, pickleball. She also loves Michigan sports teams. Tamra remains passionate about supporting her community and cherishes time spent with family, friends, and neighbors in Lapeer.

With over 25 years of experience in banking, including 16+ years at Choice One, Johanna has demonstrated a commitment to both professional excellence and community involvement. A dedicated parent, Johanna has three children: the eldest daughter is married and resides in Ohio, the middle daughter is pursuing her studies at Northern Michigan University, and the youngest son is currently a junior at Almont High School.
Outside of work, Johanna enjoys spending time with her family at their cabin up north. An active community member, Johanna currently serves on the boards of United Way of Lapeer County, the Four County Community Foundation as treasurer, and the Almont Athletic Boosters. Past board involvement includes roles with the Almont Downtown Development Authority and the Almont Chamber of Commerce, where Johanna served as president. Additionally, Johanna has been instrumental in supporting their daughters' project graduation events.

Marlene Weber is Vice President of Asset Protection for Williams-Sonoma, one of the top multi-channel specialty retailers of high-quality products for the home and a Fortune 500 company. She is responsible for leading a team of professionals who are dedicated to protecting the assets, profitability, and safety of the company.
Her over 25 years of experience in loss prevention includes 16 different countries, 600 store locations, 12 distribution sites with 16 million combined square footage, 2 manufacturing locations, and 50 hubs for the final mile. She is involved in every aspect, from sourcing to logistics to distribution, to the stores, to the customers' homes.
She is EnCE certified and conducts computer forensic investigations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. She is a member of RILA, NRF, and a board member for ISCPO.
Marlene is involved and supports several organizations such as Acts 1:8, LCC K9 Comfort Dogs, numerous wildlife and animal rescues, and is a member of her church counsel. She holds a board seat at United Way of Lapeer County.
Secretary
Dr. Alex Wolfe, a native of Lapeer, MI, and graduate of Lapeer East High School, is an alumnus of Central Michigan University and Palmer College of Chiropractic. Committed to making a positive and lasting impact in his hometown, Dr. Alex has returned to the Lapeer area with a mission to serve his community.
Together with his wife, Dr. Hannah Wolfe, he owns and operates Wolfe Family Chiropractic in Metamora. Actively involved in numerous local non-profit organizations, Dr. Alex focuses his efforts where he can have the greatest impact on the community. This approach allows him to continue making meaningful contributions while balancing his professional life with caring for his young family and patients.

Dr. Leanna Pender is an Optometrist at Opticare Vision Center and Lapeer County Vision Center. She is a Lapeer Native who graduated from Lapeer East High School in 2008. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at Saginaw Valley State University and in 2016 Dr. Pender graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry (MCO) at Ferris State University.
Through working in private practice, she has developed a passion for many aspects of optometry including
scleral lenses, low vision, myopia control, pediatric exams and vision therapy. In 2013, Dr. Pender married her high school sweetheart and they currently enjoy living life with their four young children. Dr. Pender is a new member of the United Way Board, she has been active since the summer of 2023.

John Biscoe is a proud veteran, dedicated public servant, and lifelong advocate for his community.
After serving in the U.S. Army, John pursued higher education at Michigan State University before embarking on a distinguished 31-year career as the Administrative Controller for Lapeer County. His commitment to public safety and leadership also saw him serve as Undersheriff for the county.
In addition to his professional contributions, John shared his knowledge as an adjunct instructor at Mott College, where he taught criminal justice. Over the past four decades, he has dedicated his time and expertise to numerous boards throughout Lapeer County, fostering growth and collaboration within the community.
John currently serves as a Trustee for the American Legion and as Treasurer for the United Way of Lapeer County, where his leadership continues to make a lasting impact. He is married to Gail Bishop, an equally devoted community advocate who supports local families through her volunteer work with the United Way’s VITA free tax preparation program.
Together, they take pride in their three grown children, who now reside in Texas. John’s lifelong service reflects his unwavering dedication to both his country and his beloved Lapeer County.

Jim McQueen is an accomplished business leader with a strong background in finance and community involvement. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance major with a focus in Personal Financial Planning from Central Michigan University. Since 2006, Jim has owned and operated Lapeer Financial, providing financial services and expertise to clients throughout the region.
In 2020, Jim founded GRO Networking, an organization designed to foster business connections and create referral opportunities through business networking chapters. His commitment to community service is reflected in his active involvement with local organizations. Jim is a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Lapeer and has also served as the president of the United Way of Lapeer County, where he remains a dedicated member today.

Sam Moore is a lifelong resident of Michigan's Thumb region with a deep commitment to community growth and development. Over the past 15 years, he has dedicated his career to local government, economic development, and nonprofit groups bringing expertise and passion to every project.
Sam is a proud graduate of Michigan State University. He actively gives back to his community as a member of the Imlay City Rotary Club, a board member of the United Way of Lapeer County, and through his service on multiple nonprofit and advisory boards across the region.
Currently, Sam serves as the Executive Director of the Lapeer Development Corporation, Lapeer County's economic development organization. In this role, he focuses on bridging economic and community development to foster a stronger, more vibrant future for all residents.
Outside of work, Sam is a devoted husband and father of two children. The family enjoys life on their small farm, where they participate in a variety of activities. Sam's wife and kids are actively involved in 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and many other enriching pursuits that bring them together and strengthen their connection to the community.
Sam’s dedication to the Lapeer region reflects his belief in the power of collaboration and service to create meaningful, lasting change.

As the founder and visionary for Owen Tree Service, Randy Owen has worked diligently to position this growing tree, lawn, and landscape company as a cutting-edge leader in Michigan’s green industry. Starting his career as a Utility Arborist trainee in
1974, and now with over 50 years of experience as a tree care professional, Randy has been dedicated to continually refining and improving both his industry and business skills.
Randy is well known and highly regarded by several green industry associations at both the state and national levels. He is the past president of the Michigan Forestry and Parks Association (MFPA), the past certification liaison (from its inception) for the
International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist testing program, Past Chairman for the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and a committee member for various activities at the TCIA and ISA. Randy is also an ISA Certified Arborist (MI-0006A).
Randy has played an important role in developing many of the standards professional tree care companies use today. He has also proved to be a valued resource for many of the tree care industry equipment manufacturers by providing valuable input regarding the development of the equipment currently available. Randy is backed up and
supported by a group of managers with diverse educational and business experience, with several having worked in various positions for numerous years in the tree care industry. Using a team approach enables Owen Tree Service to make important decisions by using group dynamics, as opposed to relying on a single decision-maker.
In addition to participating in tree care-related associations, Randy and his wife Brenda
participate in several local fundraiser events and believe in giving back to the Lapeer County community, which has given so much to him and his family. Randy thinks Lapeer County is not just a great place to live and work, but it is also a wonderful area to plant roots and raise a family.
Randy has been a volunteer, and board member of the United Way of Lapeer County since 2008 and sponsors the Varsity Letter Scholarship Program.

Matt Wandrie came to Lapeer in the summer of 2011 from the Dearborn Public Schools,
where he served as the director of human resources. His career in education also
includes work as a high school teacher, athletic coach, assistant principal, athletic
director and principal.
